Hi guys,
I have the Eagle Cuda 168, with the transducer sitting in a foam cutout, and the transducer bottom is coated with vaseline. I haven't duct taped the transducer to the foam cutout. Anyway, my depth reading is stuck at 60 feet for the first 20 minutes of paddling, then it start to give plausible readings. Is this because a little water gets into the hull?
Also, when I approach shore, the reading sticks at 7.9 feet even when I'm in 2 or 3 feet of water. Do I need a better connection with the hull? Duct tape? Newer vaselin?
Thanks in advance,
Clyde
