In the "Thurs was Muskie Day" post, JonS suggested I try Flouro leader. Is this something that Is purchased in a short leader spool or on a regular spool and just use leader lenghts? Is that a brand name or a type of line? What makes it hold up so well to the sharp teeth?
Its available in 25 yard spools mostly. There are lots of brands. Its much harder then mono with a lot more abrasion resistance, also its refractive index is almost identical to water. So that means its virtually invisible so you can go much heavier without the fishies seeing it. Seagur is the originator but I've used several brands and they're all fine. I prefer brands that use smaller spools as its easier to carry and store.
NH, look for flourocarbon which is the same as flouro, it is very hard and abrasion resistant. that is all we use on the muskies due to the clarity of the water, (we use 80 or 100lb test), the 20 would be fine. 3 years and no lost fish to teeth.

Thanks for the explanation guys. I will pick some up. Some day I will have to get together with Esox for some Muskie hunting. With all those teeth, you would think they would grin real nice for a photo that Esox could post for us.
OK, OK, I get it, I will promise to carry the camera with me at all times to post photos of the muskies. STAY TUNED. http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
