been thinking of buying a 2nd yak for the old lady, but for another year or two we only have small cars. Mitsu eclipse. I have a 13ft sot and would shoot for somehting close to that.

currently mounting on foam pads and I dont want a car rack. 2 yaks on top as bad idea as i think it is?

Check out the Rack and Roll trailer. Really light and easy to store. Your Eclipse should pull it easily. Here's the link: http://rackandroll.com/

Tina and I can second the vote for the rack and roll trailer, we have had ours for some time now and have more than 30,000 miles on it, and it's still looking good. This picture was taken in the last month or so.

We have recommended the trailer to a number of people and as far as we know, none have been sorry they made the purchase.... lightweight, tracks behind even the smallest car like a dream and you can wheel the trailer around by the handle on the tongue and use IT for a kayak dolly.

We don't work for the company, but have come to know some of the folks that do, it's like a family. You can actually talk to the man that designed the trailer if you need to.

I carried 2 on a Honda CRX this past weekend, they rode good, 160 miles round trip and still got 32mpg.
