I'm tryig to decide what rod holder to mount on my kayak. I've read good things about the Scotty holders on this forum. They've got the Powerlock and the Striker models. I see that the Powerlocks are sold at the store here. Are the Striker models not as conducive to this purpose or is it just that they are overkill (for bass) and more expensive?
Can't say that I'm familiar with other models other than the ones KFS sells here...just have not come across them.
FWIW, I think the RAM system is superior...better quality, and the RAM rod holder (not the rod tube) will hold a spinning, conventional AND a flyrod (with a fighting butt). Just my $0.02. http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you could send me a link to the product your talking about I could give you an answer. I reallylike the Scotty rod holders and I totally disagree with Joe. http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I don't want to offend by posting a link, but I will throw this out there. Scotty makes a holder for Cabela's called the "quickdraw". It'll take spinners or casters and it's a really unique design. I like it better than any of Scotty's other designs or Tite-Lok. They recently added a package of single holder, base, and extension for a reasonable price. Pics of that setup will show up in my rigging photos sooner or later http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. Anyway, they've got a great video of them in use over at cabelas. My .02.

Just checked it out. That's a Scotty Mounting Bar with 3 rod holders. I have the Scotty Mounting Bar on my kayak. I have mine set up with fly rod holder to the right,Fish Finder in the center and a handheld GPS unit to the left. You will like the mounting bar I know I do. http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
As for posting links I agree you don't want to post them here but you can send an e-mail to any of us with the link. http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
