I was thinking would it be good to have an area everybody could catch up each day? I know we have already stated that Boudroux is the official cooking/night/home base area. I was just thinking maybe a place we could meet between noon and 1pm for lunch each day and to catch up with new arivals who may arrive after the morning fish starts.
One place I thought would work are the picnic tables at the fourchon boat lanch for everybody to eat their PB&J and point each other in bad directions. What do you guys think?

I really like the idea of meeting during daylight hours. I'm interested in trying some of the other folks kayaks, paddles and such. I think others would enjoy the opportunity to do the same. What do ya'll think?

So is the Fourchon Boat launch a convenient spot for everyone? Friday, Saturday, and Sunday?

btw/ who has a digital scale to be the weighmaster?

Pencil us in.

If I can catch that 70# redfish Thursday evening I'll be happy to hook up for noon time show-n-tell.

The Fourchon Public Launch sounds good. Convienient place to launch for tests and try outs.

I'll paddle yours if you'll paddle mine.

I'll even take pictures.

Now if I catch a 70lb red I think I’ll be skipping out on you fellas and have show and tell with Wildlife & Fisheries.

Hi how about some directions on how to get to this lunch time meeting place. I'm not to familiar with the paddlepalooza area. Thanks

No sweat dogdad...

Use www.mapquest (http://www.mapquest.com) to get directions from your house to Leeville, LA.

Upon arrival at Leeville make a note to look for Boudreaux's Motel on your right hand side. It's in the "middle of downtown" as it were.

Next you'll cross a large draw bridge. Continue south for about five miles and as you go through a HUGE curve you'll see a caution light. At that caution light turn right onto Hwy 3090 (Useless piece of information #3486 - 30/90 is the nearby major latitude & longitude waypoint). Hwy 3090 is also named A.O.Rappallet Road.

Also at the intersection is the Kajun Sportsman Grocery/Motel/Bar/Restaurant (Delicious oyster po-boys upstairs).

After you finish your po-boy drive south on Hwy. 3090 for about 3.1 miles and on your left will be the public boat launch facility.

Look forward to seeing all of you there! I'll even let y'all pose for a pic with my new state record red drum! http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks Yak... It says 2 1/2 hour ride for 85 miles. Sounds right to you?

If I don't lollygag it's 2.5 hrs for me from Gonzales. I'd think you could make it in less from Metarie.

Lots of the trip is on substandard highways.

DO NOT speed through Golden Meadow! They're not as bad as they used to be but they still have a strict enforcemnent policy.

Tight Lines!

The oyster po-boys are worth the trip down there

It takes me about 2 hours from Old Metairie. I get on that Hwy (don't remember the name) just after I cross over the Intercoastal Canal in Lockport that takes you behind Golden Meadow before joing up with Hwy 1 (50mph versus 35). Cuts off about 10-15 minutes than taking Hwy 1 the whole way.

Choupique: THANK YOU! As a major newbie, I was starting to worry about how I'd learn the basics and get to know others from this forum & RnR. I'll be there Saturday-- looking forward to meeting y'all.
