Hey Jake...I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago, full layout including the tankwell cover. Its an awsome looking yak Did you notice it has a foam lining to make it unsinkable???
The improved mold mold should be back in production today. I expect it to be shipped next week, mine is yellow for max visability. I also went for the rudder, should be awsome! http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The new site is great.Even some Malibu bikini babes http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Only problem is Sean pulled my eXtreme testimonial. Now how am i gonna convince him i deserve a BIG price break on my eXtreme from all the sales it would bring in. http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I've read a lot of good reviews on other kayak fishing sites about there kayaks. Seems like they make some real nice kayaks. To bad there's no dealer in our area where we could try'em before you buy them.

Wow,

Somebody made the kayak I want and didn't even tell me. Great forward storage, great c-pit storage, right size, great TW.

I've got to see how you guys make out with these kayaks.

The only thing left to find out is if they're dry inside after a hard day of surf fishing.

I don;t know. Looks very confining inthe cockpit. That hard chined modular look is not very conducive to a variety of Arse shapes. Nice hatches. Not a fan of the hard chined cockpits. S

The CP's are pretty roomy and i found the seat very comfortable. They just got a new mold made up that moved the front hatch/upper deck forward and add's 4" of leg room.I should have mine in 2-3 weeks http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Next time i head down south we can hook up if you'd like and try it for yourself.Me thinks you'll like it and join the club http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hey Bernie, I hear ya. My concern stems from an experience with a Scupper Pro. That had the high sided, hard chined cp as well. After a couple of years in my Swing, I found the limitation of the high sides/chines to be too uncomfortable.

I'd love to hook up if you make it down, or I make it up. Usually Lake george in the Sring.

Anyway, the Swing has a rolled edge CP. It allows a full variation of positions including sitting sideways for prolonged periods, lying back if inclined (yuk, yuk), or hanging a foot/leg off without the pressure of the hull cutting off the circulation. I guess it's a feel by the seat of the pants.

I do like a lot of the other features they have on this yak. Especially the hatches. I also have a slight reservation about the tracking. But I'd love to hear about it and paddle it if there's one around. With the new Swing, I'm not in a hurry to change yaks, but it is reassuring to see some designers starting to look more closely at the needs/goals of the fishing public. S

. . about the CP Scott. I test paddled a Scupper Pro and didn't like the CP at all. I'm a 42 waist and knew it wasn't a good fit when the sides closed in on my hips before I even hit the seat. http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

With a 31" beam, the eXtreme has more space across the base of the CP. Even with 4-5 inches from the CP to the outer hull on each side, should be plenty of room for most.

As far as leg danglin' and sittin sideways, I'll let you know in a few weeks after I've spent some hours on it.

Bernie,

Just got back from the Adirondacks. I'd love to see that kayak. I'll drag Scott along and I'll show you where I paddled up to the Tiger Muskie. Let us all know when you get it!

Saw the Muskie on lake Durant, he came up in the middle of a mess of weeds and crusied around like a submarine with his tail and rear dorsal fin out of the water.

I'd really like to check out the foam core on the eXtreme. The manufacturer assures me it's a dry boat on the inside as long as the forward hatch is properly cinched down.

Another issue is the square hatches in the c-pit and behind the seat. I've had similar hatches get very sandy after multiple beach launches and even lose their O-ring.

On Chautaqua lake in sw NY, we once saw a large muskie swimming with about a 1/3 of the front of its body out of the water. It did this for a good several hundred yards, tho went down several times (to breathe, we assumed).

I asked Sean about the foam/floatation.It's actually the same plastic they use for the outer hull. The way they add, heat, and cure the extra plastic(no color added)to the hull it ends up coming out not nearly as dense. The result is this "looser" less dense plastic itself providing the floatation.Pretty neat idea!Once finished the hull's wall thickness is about 1/2".

This kayak is a definite MUST SEE

AS for the Muskie...yeah it was weird, he was above the surface for quite some time.

Greg, Isn't that intersting to watch. I have watched several Muskie on Chautauqua do that. Some say they do it to help digest a large fish ? In observing them and because of this repeated behaviour by certain Muskies. I feel it may be curiosity ? I have also noted that it is mostly large Muskies.

Maybe Esox can ring in on this subject ?

Enjoy the outdoors..........B.I.

Recessed rod holders even with mods and pvc extensions are a poor flyrod holder compared to a Scotty or others.

I feel Jon and Emotion Kayak have the right idea in one respect if not moore.

Give them (fisherman) the space and let them mount the type rod holders they want where they want. Nobody knows better than me what type, and where I want my rod holders and to me its very important in a fishing yak.

Also having just sold two yaks with adjustable footpegs I prefer the premolded in type that I now have for fishing.

The cockpit leg room may be cramped something I must have for long legged clients.

Overall nice looking big water fishing yak, nice site...........how long have they been around ?

I am glad to hear that. I hesitated bringing this up, because I've run into only one person before who had seen this and sometimes I get funny looks when I tell the story.

The theory that they are trying to get a fish further down is the best one I've heard thus far.
