P13 Forward Rod Holder Location

Anyone faced this problem and solved it?

Since I can't touch my toes like the good old days, I have trouble reaching my Scotty fly rod holder, installed on the normal position on the center ramp at the end of the foot wells..... have to scoot forward in the seat and stick my feet in the water... not pretty and it cuts into my fishing time!

After seeing bnznet's post from 8/13, I thought I'd try something similar, mounting a cutting board/Ram ball mount on the tackle box platform between my knees... Any other suggestions on how to solve this problem and still have a place to keep a fly box handy?

If you place a ram ball in the place where you now have the scotty base. RAM has an extension for their fly rod holder that cuts the distance between you and your rod. I bought a prowler 13 that has a RAM ball in the same spot. I though about changing it. But after taking the kayak out and using the fly rod holder I discovered that it was not a problem for me to reach out to get my rod.
