I have found a LL manta ray new locally with a rudder 14 ft long for about $950. I really dont know if there was a LL manta ray last year and what is real difference in the two? I am wondering if I would be better off buying this years model made by Heritage.

are you talking about the heritage RedFish well that is going to be the kayak that i am going to get and the bad parts are that if you but a crate in you will need to cut the crate for it to fit and then it is wide so dont expected to go like 10 miles on it but since it is wide you can stand up on it
The seat on the RedFish is very very nice
best of luck with your choices their both good http://www.kayakfishingstuff.com/images/maps/thumbsup.gif

Does it have Liquid Logic logos on the sides? If it does there's a good chance it's actually an '06. If it is, I'm surprised it's that much. Native Watercraft has actually taken over the production of the MR not Heritage. The differences are the seat and the foot rests which are both an improvement IMO. We've been selling blemished MR 14's, new, w/out the rudder for $650 if that helps.
