Anyone try at extend a flush mount rod tube yet?

After visiting the plumbing department at my local home improvement store, I was dissapointed to find that there is not an appropriately sized pvc pipe to insert into a flushmount.

My evil plan was to insert a length of pvc into the tube, utilize a reducer back up to a similar sized longer pipe (Ram Tube style) with a 45 to change the angle more forward and easier to reach (my flushmounts are currently angled aft).

So, has someone else attempted this and succeeded? If so, I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for your secret today!! http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Are the PVC pipes in the electrical department different sizes than the ones in the plumbing dept?

Dirty,

You're suggestions are most welcome; though I have a feeling that you're gonna hold back on it like the oil companies do with the patents on engines that run on paper, water, air, lettuce, fish scales, etc... http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

these are what i made for mine. i actually added a third rod holder to the unit and a fly rod adapter to the one so i can carry a long rod back there.

the PVC is 1 1/4" schedule 40. little heavy but it really gives a good tight fit in the rod holder.

also painted them black with rustoleum outdoor textured black.
