Yup. Just found out my schedule for next year. Doing Emergency Med. from mid-August to mid-Sept...which means I can arrange my own work schedule, so long as I do a set # of shifts in the 4 week period. Translation = fish my arse off.

Spending three months doing electives at Duke/UNC Chapel Hill during early Spring. Translation = kayak is taking a long road trip.

Also know that I'll have the ENTIRE MONTH off, from 4/26-5/21. Translation = Living la vida loca. http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Have kayak, will travel.

Good time of the year to have a month off. So only a set number of shifts. What is that about 90 hours a week? 'Course the all have to be night shifts http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yak, Yak, Yak...is that all I do?

Joe B,

I work in Durham, NC very close to DUMC. I fish a couple of the freshwater lakes in the area for bass but have never done any saltwater fishing (out of my kayak or otherwise). Drop me a line when you arrive in Durham in the spring. Maybe we can get together and fish one of the local lakes. The two big ones are Jordan (about 12000 acres) and Falls (about 10000 acres). Falls lake also has a sub-impoundment called Beaver Dam Lake that prohibits gas motors. I'm not sure of it's size, maybe around 1000 acres or so.

Hope to talk to you in the future,
Kevin

Sleepy Head,

I've been to Jordan twice but not to fish. Just tooled around with my wife. I have maps of Jordan & Falls lakes. There are areas marked on the maps that are indicated "striper areas". I'll have a look at the map tonite and let you know.

During the Springtime, I will only be on LI between the end of April and the end of May. I have that entire 4 week period off, right before graduation.
