I tried a Dirigo 120 and 140 at Paddlefest in Inlet, NY.... thought the 140 was slow. Liked the Dirigo 120 a lot.

Yes! I own a Dirigo 140 and really like it, fish from it all the time.

I am 5'10" and 185 pounds and live in northern Illinois. I have had my yak out on several small to mid sized lakes in my area in a variety of conditions. Last Sunday, I had it out in heavier boat traffic and wind to see how it would perform, it did well and I had a blast crashing around in the waves.

The hull is nice and stiff due to the material that Old Town uses. Contrary to the other post, I have found the 140 to be fast and track very straight (even into the wind). The seat is very comfortable and easy to adjust. The rear hatch is nice too. I have already made a few additions to my yak for fishing (rod holders, work deck, anchor trolley etc.) and have bought just about every gadget you can think of and they have all been very compatible (spray skirt fit and such). I have several trips planned this summer including the Door County Kayak Symposium on Lake Michigan and a few river/camping trips (all of which I intend to do from my Dirigo).

If you want any addtional info on this yak, let me know!
