8/25/03 Fished the ocean in Momnmouth County somewhere between Sandy hook and Long Branch (I don't want to give the exact location because it upsets some people but just cruise down rt 36 and look for a "s" load of party boats) You know there is a lot of Fluke around when you see not only a ton of Jersey party boats but a bunch of NY boats too. Caught about 15 shorts many around 15-16 inches on spearing squid combo very close to the beach or should I say almost on the beach. West wind knocked down the waves so you could fish in real close at least in a kayak. Pissed off the guys in the Party boats because they could not get in close enough without beaching although I thought a few of them almost did,(got revenege for all the "hey look at the crazy guy in the kayak!!" comments from the party boat fares) Whish they were keepers to really show them up. Email me for exact location and launch spot if you are a yak fisherman. ps. there was a lot of blue fish blitzes in the same area, I did not try for them, sick of catchinng the smelly things.
