I wanted to post some additional information pertaining to the tournament. Thanks to those who have signed up already. So far prizes will include a Werner paddle, Ram Mount rodholders, Scotty rodholders, a custom made fly rod from Rivergirl, a NRS fishing PFD, prizes from Legacy Paddlesports and other giveaway type prizes such as straps from NRS. There will be more prizes to come.

We have a cap at 40 anglers but, as of now, we are far from the limit. If we can get more anglers to register, this can really be a great event. If you have friends or family members that love to fish but do not have a kayak, we do have rentals available for $20. The registration fee is $30 until June 7. After June 7, the fee will increase to $40 and registraion ends on June 14.

Last year in the Big Bass contest, between the Greensboro Watershed lakes, Lake Brandt claimed the big bass for May, June and September. The one caught in June was almost 8.5 lbs!

Update......

For the 1st Annual Get:Outdoors & Fish Kayak Fishing Tournament we will keep registration open through Thursday, June 19. The late registration fee is $40. We have been getting more sign-ups lately including a couple of popular names- Corey Routh and Chad Hoover. Prizes now include a Caratoke rod rack, a deck bag from Seattle Sports, a Hullaport pro from Thule, a Werner Skagit paddle, a NRS Chinook fishing PFD, an IR Zephyr dry top, rod holers and accessories from Ram Mount and Scotty, a custom flyrod and fly fishing lessons from Rivergirl. More prizes will be available from Get:Outdoors and other sponsors.
