Big D mix bag
Had an interesting night on the river. We caught a nice variety of fish, Largey's, Channels, Flatty's and a Striper. There was also a dead northern snakehead
 . I heard they were in the river but now I know for sure.

Nice fish. That snakehead is scary. I hate to see them in the river.

Snakeheads are well established in the Delaware, Ive herd them caught as far north as bulls island. Same as the flatheads. theres no way to get rid of them at this point. Snakeheads get a horrible reputation but flatheads eat 10x more and grow 10x bigger.
They are both invasive but so are carp, musky, pike, salmon, brown trout, and several other favorite species. If you ask me our "native" ecosystem is already screwed. Might as well except a new species and have fun catching it. I don't bother killing flatheads or snakeheads.

I don't kill the Flatty’s either. It’s too late for that. There here to stay. I actually love fishing for them however I have noticed a decline in the smallie population in the areas I fish over the past years. I'm sure the flattys are eating their share but there are other factors as well (aka bucket brigadiers and illegal dumping).

Personally, I see a difference between a new species fitting in to the overall framework, filling a niche that was unexploited or vacated by natives, and one that dominates an area, driving everything else out. When something new shows up you never know how that will play out.
