Default Malibu x-13

Looks like I will be gettin a new kayak and I'm lookin at the X-13. Now with that said so guys have said they are hard to turn and the center hatch cover leeks to much cause of the seal is not to good. So what do you folks say to that ?

I'm thinking about going to a Malibu Stealth 14 from the Pescador as well.
Looking for something with a bit more stability and fishability.

The x-13 is only an inch wider than the pescador so the maneuverability shouldn't be much different. I paddled the Stealth recently, which is considered a barge (33" beam), so I have to imagine the x-13 is easier to paddle.

I'm not sure about the Malibu hatches but from what I've heard about the Stealths there aren't too many issues. I'm sure you could always modify the gaskets for added waterproofing.

My buddy and his wife have Stealth 14s and love em. The X-13 fits my pocket book and I by gettin the recreational that will give me a clean slate to work with and save some more money there. I've talked with some owners of the X-13 and they say they have no trouble with turnnin that it's easy to paddle, very fast, the stability is great and the new style hatch took care of leekin.

I've been happy with mine... however the bow hatch did leak like a ^$@&# so I get some foam to put around it as a gasget .... works like a charm...

I'm doing weekly youtube updates this year.. check out user CTKAYAK
