I'm in the process of wanting a larger and faster kayak to fish from. Right now though I'm not to sure as were to look. I have an OK big yak right now which is good for a lot of task's, but I want something in the 12-14' range for the bays and sound we have here on LI. Any ideas?

There are a LOT of good fishing kayaks, way better than the big yak.
Personally I would stick with something from the more well known makers. It depends on your size and how you will use it, but for ocean/sound use I like boats 13-16 feet long, less than 30 inches wide. Pay attention to the hull weight. There are a few boats that come in much lighter than the rest and some on the heavy side.

don't limit yourself to a short yak. I fish in the Sound most of the time and I'm glad to have a Prowler 15 and the Hobie Adventure that is around 16'. Longer and narrower will allow you to go further and faster resulting in more fishing time and less fatigue at the end of the day.

I would look at the Trident series- 13 & 15 and the Ultra 4.3 & 4.7 from Ocean Kayak. The Ultra's are offshore machines born & bred in New Zealand.....home of the snotty bluewater conditions.
I have the 4.7 and love it, but at 77lbs, it can be somewhat of a beast to load/unload. The 4.3 has the best features of the 4.7, only 1'4" shorter, yet 18lbs lighter! Here's a link to an awesome deal on a like new Ocean Kayak Trident Ultra 4.3 loaded to the gills.....about as turn-key as you can get!! http://www.kayakfishingstuff.com/com...ad.php?t=82893

Thank's guys for all the reply s. Right now i'm pretty far off from buying this, since im kind of broke, lol. I think i'm narrowing it down to either an OK trident series, or a Wilderness System Tarpon 140 or 160, but time will tell. Once again Thanks.

In my view, paddling sit-inside kayaks requires a fairly significant investment in skills development & skills maintenance for safe paddling. SOTs require less, which may suit the occasional kayaker better.

Have you considered the old style P13?It's still available and costs a good bit less than the 2 other OK 13's.

Look at the Hobie Quest. This often overlooked padddle kayak from Hobie is a perfect 13 footer.
