i was wondering if apollo beach has any good fishing near there or off the shore, what to catch, are there any rules against surf fishing during mid day?

Take Apollo Beach Blvd all the way to the end, merge to the right and follow that all the way to the end. There is a park at the end of the road, you can wade the entire area. It's not good this time of year, water is way to warm due to the warm water discharge fromm the power plant. Simmons Park, which is south of Apollo Beach is a better bet for wading. Fish the northern most channel on an outgoing tide. (Come into the park, take the first right ((Wilderness Trail)) go all the way to the end. Wade the flats where the channel dumps out onto them) Good Luck.

Kneedeep is going to Simmons today.
Heywood - I was at AP on Monday. I cannot believe how toasty that water is. It's a great spa but way too hot for fishing this time of year.

Terry, you got ESP or something? Is there no-one you dont know on these forums?
I have been down to AP when the water was hot as bathtub water. I wouldnt wade to deep though, who knows whats coming out of that discharge. |

Went to Simmons last eve and there were fish everywhere, but I think the barometer turned them off for a while. It rained purdy much the entire time we were there. I might make it over there again this afternoon but I am gonna keep an eye on the radar before I make the final decision..

Kneedeep - Due to the weather I bagged Simmons yesterday and Fort D. today. I managed to see a spectacular waterspout off of Holmes Beach this a.m.
 I'm also watching the radar and thinking about heading out later.

Wish I could join you guys. Caught some kind of bug, started feeling like crap Thurs night, stayed in bed all day today. Did manage to spool my new fly reel.
