I'm looking for something similar to this. I will be using a 4'x 8' utility trailer with wood sides about 3' high. To the wood 4"x 4" on each side I want bolt a rack like this and then add Thule j-style kayak carrier.

To make this sound clearer I'm looking for a base that can be bolted to the wood with two cross bars to attach the J-style kayak carriers.

Rick, I thought they were pillows. Just find a thule bar that mounts to the gutter rails, you can even find them used on ebay.

You don't need the sides. Just use the flat part of the trailer and mount the J-style thingys. I'm buying 2 outbacks that comes with a trailer and that's how they did it. No need for the cross bars.
