Call for Tennesee Kayak Fishermen

Hey guys, I fish the far east Tennessee tail waters and rivers primarily for Smallmouth bass and occasionally trout. I agree it's kind of lonely to kayak fish in Tennessee, unless you are lucky enough to have a friend with a canoe. Anyway, give a shout if you want to chase some fish over this way.

I've been looking for a good South Holston trout expert. Know any?

What rivers do you smallmouth fish? I love fishing for them in small water.

I never fish the South Fork Holston but I would assume one would fish it just like the clinch, cast a crank bait till you arm falls off. Just kidding, I mostly float the Clinch below Norris Dam for trout, spin or fly. For smallmouth let's think about the Holston below Cherokee Dam.

I'm not catching any trout these days... I'm out in the woods chasing Bambi (the deer, not the stripper).

But, here is a site that has a really good message board. It is a flyfishing site, initially geared toward the mountain streams, but you can keep up with what is going on. Click on the forum then on "tailwaters."

I felt the same way before we started GKF. It took awhile, but we SLOWLY began to find each other. For months, I just got odd looks from powerboaters as stripers pulled me around in my odd little plastic boat!

There are no doubt kayak anglers in your area and likely feeling just as disenfrachised as you.

I almost hate to quote corny movie lines, but-

"Build it and they will come" worked for Georgia. I imagine the same would do just fine in the Volunteer State. If I can help, give a shout.
