Assabet River, Stow Mass

Since tube-a-poluza was postponed I figured I would work the local fresh water. It was refreshing to look at all my kayak fishing loot and only take out about 1/4 of it. I fished from 4:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Five largemouth and one pickerel, all on plastic worms. Only a few mosquitos and one beaver tail splash in the dark about 5' from the boat that got my heart accelerating a bit. Here is one photo to confirm I was catching "largemouth". This one was just 2.5 lb.s but was a nice hunchback.

Gumbo....nice fish....where did you "put in" on the assabet

Coltranem - I launched from the bridge on Sudbury Road in Stow and went downstream. This fish was in the shallows of the bay at Crow Island.

I got out again on the Assabet for 3 & 1/2 hours of freshwater. Nice day to be out, temp around 60 and a mix of sun, clouds, and rain. Water was high from the big rains last week. Caught one pickerel and two largemouth, nice looking fish but not too big. All caught on Yamamoto Senkos wacky rigged. One on a 5" red and two on a 4" pumpkin. Also casted a Storm Wildeye Bluegill a lot, chartreuse and white buzzbait, black frog, and green texas-rigged worm with no luck. Mysterioso top and bottom kept me warm and dry.
