Sad... but it is the Congo. I'm pretty sure even a brain dead lab monkey knows you don't wonder into the Congo without expecting something to try and maul you. I'm not sure why anyone is shocked.
 There's more death in that river than anywhere on earth. The most deadly viruses, the most deadly parasites, and the most deadly animals all come from that stretch of a hell hole called the Congo river. That being said, Its always been a major goal for me to paddle the congo before I die.
