Default Epic day for me in Estero Bay yesterday!

I went out yesterday in Estero Bay with a friend and a well known professional fishermen to tackle the local fish population and I had the best day of inshore fishing I've ever had!

I caught my first slam, my first ever trout, my first ever southern flounder, and my first ever topwater slot redfish!

I caught 3 redfish (2 slot), 1 snook, 1 trout, 1 flounder and 1 ladyfish!

What an awesome day!

I was into kayak fishing before yesterday now I'm totally completely addicted!

I know the saying goes "it didn't happen unless there's pics" and they are on the way. I'll post them as soon as I get them from pro.

Outstanding, sounds like an epic day. Nothing will get you hooked on kayak fishing like a day like that.
Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference.
Marines don't have that problem.

That's great. Nice fat trout too. In that second pic, you look like you are going to rob a 7-11

I've been fishing Sarasota bay the past couple summers (june/july), but just can't find anything other than small ladyfish and trout. No other sportfish anyway. Maybe I have the wrong time of year!? I threw a lure at two tarpon last year but no joy.

Yes he has and was kind enough to let me tag along. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't had done near that well. I'm hoping he'll let me tag along again soon even though I'm just a friend of a friend.....

It was great experience to learn from a pro about what to look for and how to work certain lures in certain conditions. Plus it was cool to use some new cool products that aren't available local, like those power clips. Hopefully I'll be able to put all that new knowledge to the test again soon.
