Anthracite Outfitters conditions and tactics update...

The smallmouth bass bite on the North Branch of the Susquehanna River is really heating up. Although the water levels have been below normal with elevated water temps, the smallies can be found. The past few days I have been hitting well with the fly rod.

On May 20th 2010 Anthracite Outfitters had Tim from the Philly area out for a day trip kayak fishing the North Branch of the Susquehanna River. Tim found out about Anthracite Outfitters when he sat in on a seminar I spoke at during the Philadelphia Outdoor Expo.

Here's an image of the feather skin I am using for tails. I forget what bird it came off of, but I think the whole skin cost me $8.00. These feathers will be the tail of the jig. You may substitute marabou, saddle hackle, hungarian partidge, or whatever else you think looks like the tail of this fishbait.
