Picked up the new KFS Ultimate Cart V2 for a friend, but after playing with it think I will be keeping it and giving him another (he really won’t use it much anyway, besides he’s in the dark ages and doesn’t have a computer). I’ve had a few carts and currently have 3, since he lives 4 hours from the coast I will be giving him a “H” style scupper cart with 10” tires.

Trailex Trailers
Towards the end of 2003, I researched everything out there in the way of yak trailers and finally settled on the Trailex as being the best of show. I have the SUT-250-M four yak trailer that I purchased back in January of 2004. Here is a pic of the PITY (Put-It-Together-Yourself) trailer.
In addition, I got the COMBO package that includes a spare tire with galvanized rim, spare tire mounting kit, and Bearing Buddies w/Bras. However, the addition that I really like is the Self Mount Box Kit for mounting a pickup truck-type tool box directly on the trailer.

Kokatat SuperNova Paddling Suit
I've been using my Super Nova and I love it. It is very light. I can see myself being comfortable with shorts and a t-shirt underneath on a warm day and just layering with fleece when it gets cold. The suit is called a semi-dry because the neck isn't designed for submersion. I had gotten a couple reports of the zippers leaking so I called up Kokatat. They said that it's very important to make certain that the zipper is closed properly.
Hobie Sidekick Review
I have to tell you that I am pretty happy with the sidekicks I installed on my Hobie outback. They serve my purposes very well.
I use my yak mostly in the ocean. I have to launch and land in the surf. This is not a fun thing to do with a yak loaded with fishing gear! Despite my practiced attempts to control the yak in the surf the waves more times than not dump me unceremoniously and usually in front of onlookers. (not cool!) I love my outback but this yak was born to roll in the surf! I am sure it is not the only one.

Mysterioso Clothing
I found out about Mysterioso M-Tech from a surfer friend of mind and he said that it is very popular on the west coast and he wears it under his wetsuit to give him, what he feels is equivalent to another 1.5 millimeter of wetsuit warmth. He also says when the water is not that cold and he doesn't use the wetsuit, he will use the Mysterioso M-Tech alone. I decided to purchase a top and try it while surfing; I was a believer, not only did it make me feel less clammy inside my wetsuit; it gave me that extra warmth that he told me about.
